How to Participate

Go Gold Day is just one day, but we encourage you to participate all September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month)! You can share facts about childhood cancer on your morning news programs, allow your students to wear GOLD, and raise funds if you are able.

While this is an awareness campaign first and foremost, the schools that have been able to fundraise have done so powerfully, collecting “Change for Cancer” in their classrooms for The Benjamin Gilkey Fund for Innovative Pediatric Cancer Research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. We are happy to come to your school to collect any change donated. Even better, we can visit your school before you start collecting and bring you the bank bags that will be used to deposit the change—no coin rolling needed! Alternatively, direct donations may be made on our “donate” page, and you can sell Go Gold Day t-shirts and stickers as well. Business partners can really make a difference in this campaign also! Consider inviting local restaurants to host Go Gold Give Back Nights, donating 10% of their proceeds to the cause. Let’s get creative and make change together!

We invite you to find your own unique ways to spread awareness and empower your students to make change! Please contact us if you’d like more information on how to turn your change into research, and be sure to send us photos of your school in all its GOLD glory!
