Where The Money Goes

Go Gold Day is an awareness campaign to empower kids, and fundraising is an important piece of the event. Very little federal cancer funding goes to children, so many clinical trials rely on philanthropy to help find new solutions and treatments. The money raised on Go Gold Day goes to The Benjamin Gilkey Fund for Innovative Pediatric Cancer Research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. This Fund supports clinical trials and investigative science for children facing cancer. Currently, the Fund is financing two groundbreaking trials that are actively enrolling patients. It is also facilitating new research into genetic predispositions, which can make typically curable cancers resistant to treatment. The change kids collect for Go Gold Day is affecting actual change in the world of pediatric cancer. Way to go, kids!
